Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Timeliner. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Timeliner.

You must be at least 16, or the minimum age required to enter this agreement in your jurisdiction. If you use Timeliner for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it.

2. The service

Timeliner helps you create, review and privately share personal timelines across different levels of detail. Features may evolve as we improve the product. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, but we will not intentionally remove access to your personal Build cards solely because a Pro subscription ends.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your login credentials and activity performed through your account. Notify support@timelinerapp.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the timeline content you create. You give Timeliner a limited license to host, process, back up and display that content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the service and to carry out actions you request, such as generating a share snapshot.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to upload or share it. Do not upload unlawful material or information that violates another person’s privacy or rights.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse Timeliner, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with service operation, distribute malware, scrape the service at unreasonable scale, reverse engineer protected portions except where law permits, or use Timeliner to violate law or another person’s rights.

6. Free Build and Timeliner Pro

Build is available without a paid subscription. Pro adds subscription features such as unlimited Review and additional imports.

An eligible new annual subscriber may receive a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the annual subscription automatically begins and CHF 79.90 is charged using the payment method provided. Trial eligibility and the exact charge date are shown at checkout.

Applicable taxes and the complete amount due are shown before you confirm payment. Payments are processed through RevenueCat and Stripe. Subscription access is associated with your Timeliner account.

7. Renewal and cancellation

Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the selected monthly or annual period until cancelled. You can cancel through the subscription-management option provided with your purchase or by contacting support@timelinerapp.com.

Cancel before the next renewal—or before an annual trial ends—to avoid the next charge. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. When Pro ends, Pro-only features stop, but Build and your personal cards remain accessible subject to these Terms.

8. Refund policy

Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated at checkout, subscription payments are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds for unused time. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact support@timelinerapp.com promptly with the account email and charge date.

This policy does not limit mandatory consumer cancellation, withdrawal, refund or remedy rights that apply where you live.

9. Price changes

We may change prices for future subscription periods. Where required, we will provide advance notice and an opportunity to cancel before the changed price applies. A price change does not alter a period you have already paid for.

10. Public links

You control whether to create a public timeline link and which information its snapshot reveals. Anyone with an active link can view the disclosed information. You are responsible for reviewing the preview before publishing and for revoking a link when it should no longer be available.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to operate Timeliner reliably, but the service is provided on an “as available” basis and may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, security incidents or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We may release updates that change appearance or behavior.

12. Intellectual property

Timeliner’s software, visual design, branding and documentation belong to Timeliner or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of the service or its intellectual property.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Timeliner at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, non-payment or a material breach of these Terms. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

14. Disclaimers and liability

Timeliner is an organizational and reflection tool, not medical, legal, financial or emergency advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Timeliner is provided without implied warranties and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply in your place of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent Swiss courts unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
